For I know the plans I have for you

I should have known why I was getting antsy. We've never lived in one place very long. We have lived in NC for two years now and according to our history it's time to move. But..... we aren't. I had to do some redecorating of the apartment to be satisfied where we live. I must say, with just a few minor changes of decor the place is a lot more homey. So now I'm in for the long haul (as if nursing school hasn't been a haul!) Josh has accepted a position at UNC hospitals for the fall in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. I really have no idea what that means except for the fact that he is happy and satisfied with his job, which is all I want. It will be nice to be making a salary again, we just have to hold out until he starts September 21st. We will take all the prayers we can get to financially and mentally make it until that first paycheck. (yeah... my children's ministry paycheck is nothing compared to a real salary, but it helps!)
Things are starting to move with my job. I'm getting into a little bit of a routine and figuring out what I would like to plan long term. It is such a blessing to have a job that I can do from home! Of course, it is also a blessing that the girls are finally starting to actually play with each other. They are so adorable singing and playing pretend with each other. I think Caroline's speech is even improving a little bit.
Speaking of Caroline, her big day is coming up in just a couple of weeks! I can't believe it. I think I'm going to chose not to think about it until closer to her actual birthday.
Makayla is Makayla. She continues to crack us up with her imagination. She make believe plays Dora all day long, we've even got her talking some spanish.
Sorry there are no pictures this week.... maybe next week.

Sleeping Picture of the Week

Spring Break is over and Josh has started his Labor and Delivery clinicals. He's not as excited about it as I am. He got to see a birth this week too, but he wasn't interested. Oh well, he's already seen two. We miss having daddy home with us all week, but with his clinicals in the evenings we get to see him more.
I got to go to the Elders/Ministers and wives retreat last weekend. I guess that makes me official. Since I am the only female minister, they put me in charge of the wives....interesting because most of them could be my mom, or grandma. So I let them do the teaching and I think we had a good time. It was fun to stay in a bed and breakfast two times in one week, but I liked the one Josh took me to better :)
Makayla is now Dora the Explorer. We are continually chasing Swiper the Fox, counting things, or acting out an episode. It's cute to watch. She even told us to "Vamanos" this week. So although we don't like her watching a lot of tv, she is learning some things.
Caroline's phrase of the week "I do it" She is trying her best to get herself dressed. She even took her diaper off during naptime because it was wet...how sweet. Of course, this does make things a little frustrating when she can't manage to do things on her own, but eventually she'll learn how to do it.
So apparently we are taking a sleeping picture every week. We just can't help it! They are too cute sleeping together. I thought this one was especially cute, enjoy!

Caroline has three undershirts around her belly

Makayla saw the camera out and wanted her picture taken

What do you think? Do they fit?

Five Years

Today Josh and I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! It is so hard to believe that we've been married this long. It's been a crazy journey so far, with so much more to come. We've moved 5 times, been in the hospital 6 times, had two children in 11 months, graduated from college, gone back to college, lived with the in-laws, been a working mom and a stay at home dad, been unemployed, bought a house, moved back in to an apartment, been apart of 4 church families, gotten fired, quit, had 7 different jobs in a year, made new friends, and most importantly grown in Christ. I couldn't imagine going through life with anyone else, and am so thankful to have a best friend/husband to grow up with. I love you Josh!

P.S. Here are some pics of the kiddos, what you really wanted anyways :)

I blinked!

Ok, so when did Caroline grow up? She's getting to be such a big girl now. She's using a spoon on her own, trying to dress herself, brushing her teeth. She's putting two words together. I mean really, I blinked and now she's almost in college! We are quickly approaching Bradley birthday season and I'm just not sure that I'm ready for this. It just seems time is going by too quickly. Next week Josh and I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! Caroline turns 2 in April and Makayla turns 3 in May (mommy has a b-day in May too, but no one really cares about that). Makayla is quickly leaving toddlerhood behind and becoming a little girl. She is loving her new Dora DVD her daddy got her and had us "chasing the babies" all the way home from church tonite (the plot of the Dora episode). She has recovered from her potty regression, we are all VERY thankful for that! Caroline is has also recovered from her stomach bug, which we are also very thankful.
In adult news... I survived my Screamfree weekend. It was my first major event as a Children's Coordinator and I think I made it through ok. No missing kids, so that's always a positive. It was a long and busy weekend, but now I move on to bigger and better things...like VBS. Josh has just a few more days and then he gets Spring Break. It couldn't come soon enough! Being in school and having a family is tough. We are started to think about life after graduations and are looking in to a couple of options that don't involve UNC. I will keep you posted on Josh's job status.
Well, I sign off with some pictures of Caroline and Mason. Hope you enjoy!
